MBST® TECHNOLOGY
HOW MBST WORKS
Magnetic Resonance-Based Tissue Stimulation
MBST® uses the physical principle of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) to deliver a controlled, non-invasive biophysical stimulus to targeted tissues.

MAGNETIC RESONANCE-BASED TISSUE STIMULATION
MBST® uses controlled magnetic and radiofrequency parameters to create a targeted biophysical stimulus within the treatment area. The process is based on the physical principles of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and the behaviour of hydrogen protons naturally present throughout the body's tissues.
STEP BY STEP
HOW MBST WORKS
Magnetic Field
A controlled static magnetic field aligns hydrogen nuclei (protons) present naturally in the body's water-rich tissues.
Radiofrequency Excitation
A radiofrequency (RF) pulse is applied at the appropriate resonance frequency. The hydrogen protons absorb energy and are temporarily shifted from their equilibrium state.
Resonance & Relaxation
The resonance frequency of a nucleus is dependent on the applied magnetic field and its gyromagnetic ratio. For hydrogen, this relationship is described by the Larmor equation.
When the RF excitation stops, the protons return toward equilibrium and release the absorbed energy. MBST uses controlled magnetic and RF parameters to create the desired therapeutic stimulation.
Tissue-Specific Targeting
Different tissues have distinct proton densities and relaxation characteristics.
MBST uses tissue-specific treatment parameters designed for the intended target tissue, rather than applying one generic magnetic-field protocol.
Biological Response
The magnetic-resonance stimulus is intended to influence cellular and biophysical processes involved in cellular metabolism, signalling, tissue homeostasis and repair.

TREATMENT DEPTH
DEEP-TISSUE APPLICATION
Unlike optical therapies, where light intensity decreases substantially with tissue depth because of absorption and scattering, magnetic and RF fields can reach tissues throughout the treatment volume.
This allows MBST to target deeper musculoskeletal structures without relying on optical penetration.
CONTROLLED STIMULATION
NON-THERMAL, NON-IONISING
MBST uses non-ionising electromagnetic fields and is designed to provide therapeutic stimulation without intentional tissue heating or exposure to ionising radiation.
BIOLOGICAL RESPONSE
FROM MAGNETIC RESONANCE TO BIOLOGICAL RESPONSE
The magnetic-resonance stimulus is intended to interact with cellular and biophysical processes within the treatment area, creating a tissue-specific response.

THE MBST PROCESS
CONTROLLED STIMULATION. TISSUE-SPECIFIC RESPONSE.
